Forum Spam Counter Measures

Well it seems that the very very very clever hackers out there have found a way to get past the reCaptcha at forum registration.
I have tried changing the spam prevention measure to Q&A but it seems my simple questions like what is 1 + 1 were also not strong enough to prevent them from auto registering.

This is my latest attempt to block them. Now when a user signs up they will be asked a question about this picture. If they can answer it they are a human hopefully.

I really hope this works as it is impossible to activate new users accounts due to the sheer amount of spambot accounts.

If anyone else has any other ideas please let me know.

    This is exactly the sort of CAPTCHA that will work for a
    long time.  If you also place the question within the image, it makes it
    hard for the automated program to learn (most XRumer bots now use
    textcaptch.txt where the QA answers can be shared, so keep any question out of
    text and you will make it much harder)

    Custom Image Captcha will last a lot longer than people think.  Most
    CAPCHAS have recently been solved since they are public and provided to lots
    places… so things like XRumer can train against them, and once solved, they
    get into millions of places

    With your Custom Image Captcha, there is only place it can get into once
    solved… and then you can just replace the image with another original image.

    You have a very strong idea (there are more reasons that this is strong that I
    can write here, but its not going to be worth the effort to attempt to break
    this single Custom Image Capctha for just one site)
